Festive Spirits

Anyone who knows me well knows how traditional I am when it comes to certain aspects of life. By certain aspects, I'm talking a roast on a Sunday. No Sunday goes by without a golden roast chicken or medium-rare chunk of beef gracing the table before me. And it is for this very reason that I love Christmas most.

Christmas season means Christmas dinner parties. Christmas dinner parties mean roast turkey. So, for the past month, I have been the proud consumer of a total two roasts a week and for this, I must thank every brand who has invited me to their Christmas dinner parties, which began back in early November.

However, it does pay to mix things up a little and, while I won't have you messing with my roast dinner, there are so many concoctions that can be shaken and stirred up.

What with heading off to Australia this week, I gave my dab-hand at throwing a faux Christmas. Smirnoff kindly sent me through a few bottles and cocktail recipes to add into the mix.

I'm a huge fan of a different drink to complement each part of the meal and the three cocktails I threw together did a great job at doing just that.

The Christmas Canes were a refreshing start to our meal with their cranberry kick. Peach cheers made for deliciously sweet accompaniments to our mains.

After all that, I would have forgiven you for thinking I was six months gone but even so, I'm never one to shy away from a dessert. Luckily, the Smirnoff Peppermint twist hot chocolates made for a pretty light but delicious ending.
