Every season Nike and Liberty London collaborate to bring us a fresh collection of Liberty London printed Nike trainers. This season Nike has stepped up their game, modernising the Liberty London Belmont Ivy archive print with polka dots.Nike invited me down a couple of weeks ago to check out the collection and to get my hands dirty with Print Club London to deface a Liberty print tote.
We started by picking what pattern I wanted for my tote - there was the choice of polka dots - the same as the Nike x Liberty AW14 trainer and stripes. Then I had to pick between baby pink or baby blue. I had to cut my initials out to screen print on to the bag too; I had a little help on this though as I really wanted the initials to be perfect.
I'd never screen printed before and the whole process was so clever! We lay the material flat and then lowered the patterned screen onto it. A dollop of paint and a few pushes of it up and down the screen later and that was that, the material was printed! It dried quickly and then a seamstress was on hand to transform the material into my own personalised tote.
Every season I fall in love with the collection and after featuring in the SS14 campaign last season, the screen printing with Print Club London and Nike was such a fun way to be involved with the AW14 offering.
The Nike x Liberty AW14 collection launched November 1st in Liberty London and will be available from November 28th on nike.com
