You know those days where it's a struggle to get out of bed and the idea of pulling on your finest threads seems utterly alien? This was one of those days. Taking it back to basics usually only means one thing for me - American Apparel. American Apparel has seen me through my best and worst years of dressing. Six double-U dresses (in six different colours, obviously) still hang in my wardrobe from the days where I could pull off bodycon and thought it was a good idea; thank god for growing up and realising it's a little more interesting to have more than just an inch of suctioned-on cotton between you and the world.

If I go tight up top - somewhat of a rarity these days - it only makes sense to go loose waist down, and vice versa. Learning balance takes a lot of fine tuning but once you've learnt it in one area of life, there's no reason why it can't then be extended to everything else.

Caribou - Can't Do Without You

It's become a bit of a tradition of mine to kick off every summer with Caribou's Sun. A little glimpse of rays through clouds and you'll find it blasting out of my speakers. That also reflects just how long we've all been waiting for something fresh from Canadian producer Dan Snaith. Luckily for us, a few days ago saw him announce a new album. Our Love is set for release October 7th and features collaborations with Jessy Lanza and Owen Pallett. So, still a bit of a wait to go but at least we all have a new summer track from him to stick on repeat.
