There's very little that can get us out of bed at 6am but the proposition of yoga on the roof of Shoreditch House with Nike, plus a bunch of my favourite beauty editors and fitness bloggers, saw Sophie and I doing just that.
Bright and early, our morning began with a brief introduction to We Own The Night (Nike's women's 10K race that takes place in January) and Jessica Skye, founder of Fat Buddha Yoga and our instructor for the morning. Focus fell to positions and stretches that would relieve our muscles from running training and although the 45 minute class was a challenge, it was a wonderful start to the day.
Next up was a brief but insightful chat with iconic London jewellery designer Alex Munroe, who Nike have collaborated with to create the We Own The Nike finishers' necklace. Alex told us that he wanted the necklace to reflect that it was the taking part that counted, rather than the positioning - hence the design including gold, silver and bronze.
And then it was finally time to indulge in little breakfast. We were treated to pancakes, pastries, scrambled egg and smoked salmon canapes and fruit kebabs, all washed down with freshly squeezed orange juice as we serenely watched the sun shine down on swimmers getting in some early lengths in the roof pool.
