The lights went down and the music turned up but five minutes passed and we were still sat waiting patiently for Holly Fulton’s SS14 show to begin. Just when limbs started to fidget, the lights came up as crowd's suspense climaxed and a Art Deco printed denim two piece, teamed with oversized sunglasses and metallic strappy sandals hit the catwalk.
Denim with a twist continued through the out as laser cut t-shirts married with floor length skirts heavily embroidered with flowers. An eccentric pattern is always to be expected from Holly Fulton and this season's prints bloomed in orange and yellow, channelling a very 70's vibe that was confirmed by a prominent 77 plastered across a slouchy jumper dress. Relaxed bombers covered simple crop tops adding a touch of modern twist to the collection.
And the accessories? Less focus was held by jewellery this season but side swept hair, curled to perfection, fell past matching flamboyant jewelled chokers.
The Holly Fulton SS14 show lifted spirits and offered up a much needed break from the dreary grey skies. While she stayed true to her signature style, there was something a little offbeat and less capturing about what she had to offer this season.
