Cheap and Chic may be Moschino’s more pocket friendly line but their offering for AW13 was every bit as luxurious as we would expect of the main line shown in Milan.

“Ghost Hero, motorcycle rider” blasted out into the grandiose surroundings of The Savoy Ballroom, which was filled with faithful fans Pixie Gedolf, Pixie Lott and Delilah.

Never one to shy away from texture, the Cheap and Chic models circled the double runway in monochrome satin and fur outerwear. Playful pink pieces were juxtaposed against black patent platforms, thick-rimmed, studded sunglasses and thigh high boots.

Heavy embellishment dominated the runway; mock suit jackets were contrived from dresses, collars were lined with studs and ears laced with tongue in cheek faux diamond drop earrings. One moment we were looking at fluffy pink coats and then suddenly the next, in-your-face-leopard prints met with dense coloured lipstick, creating a punk turned goth sort of vibe.

The Milanese middle fingers being stuck up at convention were obviously neatly manicured and colour matched precisely to their outfits though; as hard they might have tried to disguise it, there’s no getting rid of the princess deep within the core of this Cheap and Chic punk next winter.
