John Frieda launches online tutorials.

When I got a lovely email from John Frieda's PR company last week asking me to work with the brand, I was not only flattered but shocked - I am every hairdresser's nightmare; long tassels of matted hair that hasn't been cut for at least a couple of years (I wish I was kidding).

From their Frizz-Ease to their Brilliant Brunette shampoo, John Frieda is one of my favourite hair care brands so it's safe to say I was excited by the launch of their YouTube channel. To mark the occasion, the professionals behind the John Frieda brands will host a series of easy to follow videos showing a range of stunning hairstyles.

Eight Style on Demand videos have been created, hosted by top John Frieda stylists Jake Davies and Giles Robinson. They share industry secrets enabling women to recreate a variety of beautiful on-trend styles for 2012. The videos include styles for both day and night. Sessions include mastering classic retro curls to create an elegant 1940's screen siren look and producing a stunning celebrity inspired halo plait.

I thought I might attempt the halo plait (video above). I failed miserably so I recruited my flatmate to have a go. She decided to start from the side above my ear, rather than from the back as the video suggests. Safe to say it worked (although apparently she happens to be a bit of a pro).
