Daniel Galvin @ The Corinthia London blogger event.

This time last week, I was staring at my own reflection, with my hair being blow-dryed by the same hairdresser who cuts and styles Ellie Goulding's luscious locks - but lets not get too a head of ourselves.

Modus invited a select number of bloggers for a morning of pure luxury at the Daniel Galvin hair salon at the Corinthia Hotel London, which opened in July. They have been fully booked ever since and for good reason. The hotel itself is a pure delight. It is housed within a grand Victorian building, yet the hotel offers a modern twist inside.

The salon
We were shown around the stunning salon, which features nine stations. The salon offers unrivalled technical expertise and heritage together, a certain commodity. Daniel Galvin has strong links with the film industry, and this encouraged the foundations of the Ultimate Movie Make-Over Room. This room is a world first, created to offer complete discretion and privacy to visiting celebrities, actors, actresses and privileged salon guests. The room includes special lighting to imitate all various settings, a space for interviews, TVs, iPads and everything needed to entertain the privileged guest. To be honest, I was gobsmacked. Even more so when we were told that the room is priced at £150 an hour.

We were led back to the salon where we received either a detox treatment or vegetable tint on our hair. The hairdressers were all extremely friendly and fantastic at what they did. We could then have our hair styled. Many bloggers went for curls, or they had their very curly hair made dramatically pin-straight. Me being me, I opted for a simple blow-dry with a slight curl at the end.

My hair after my blow-dry - it was super soft!

The entire morning was such a treat, miles away from my usual weekend spent ploughing through the rails at Portobello. And, to top the morning off, we all left with Daniel Galvin hair products!

Many thanks to Modus Publicity, The Corinthia London and the Daniel Galvin hairdressers.
