Peekaboo Vintage

The first thing that caught my eye, when I walked into Peekaboo  Vintage yesterday, was a beautiful crocodile print, burnt-orange clutch Dior bag. This was just many of the delightful treats that Peekaboo had to offer.

The boutique in W1, is the latest venture from founders Emily Bothwell and Michael Caunter, and offers the vintage obsessed among us all a slice of heaven. Colours, of handpicked, high-end fashion bounce off of every wall.

At once I had to start flicking through the amazing finds which are sourced from all over the world. The store is miles away from rummaging through baskets at Portobello, and understandably it is a favourite of the celebs. Billy Piper, who is a close friend of the founders', posed in the clothes for a jaw-droppingly stunning photo shoot to celebrate the launch of the boutique.

Emily Bothwell said "Vintage has moved on enormously over the last few years. We are all yearning for more individual one off pieces which set us apart from the crowd and make us look unique."

Peekaboo Vintage was founded in 1991. It has successfully been placed within the lower floor at Topshop for over ten years now. After gathering a solid clientele base, from sales in Topshop and the relaunch of PeekabooVintage.com, Emily said "It seemed only natural to launch a standalone boutique."

The boutique offers so much for every customer; inspiration, classic style, vintage inspired pieces and of course stunning vintage clothes, accessories, bags and shoes. My favourite pieces were this jacket, these shorts and this top (above). The colours on the shorts are electric. The green top is gorgeous with its intricate lace detail and buttons up the back; there have been some very similar ones selling in Topshop this summer. The jacket can only be described a classic beauty, which would remain in my wardrobe for many moons to come. I will certainly be going back, that Dior bag is calling my name...even in my sleep.

You can find Peekaboo online or at 2 Ganton Street, W1 020 74244142
Many thanks to Tanya from Push PR for showing me around, and for being such a graceful arm model.
