Trend alert: AW 11

We've barely had time to get our legs out for longer than two seconds and winter trends are flooding the shops already. All the fashion concious are probably completely clued up on this winter season's trends which hit the catwalks in February but who's to say you don't need a subtle reminder!

Sex sells and sex is back for this season. Louis Vuitton was a vast array of patent corsets, sheer skirts and blouses and transparent plastic coats; all of which oozed sex from every pore.

Garments with texture are important for next season - think fur, sequins, leather velvet, all clashing against one and other in a single piece of clothing. Think big and bold like YSL.

Black is still black, as always, but creams, dark shades of reds, greens and yellows are prominent next season.

Colour blocking is still very much in for next season, but with these colours, rather than the bright colours that have sent everyone into a daze during of SS11. However, the tangerine colour which took everyone by storm remains around for AW11 and thank god, having just bought a bright orange dress I'm not sure I am ready to wear yet. Statement coats, such as the Celine AW11 one to the left, are a definate must have of the season. I have my ridiculously oversized, bargin Burberry coat ready to go for winter.

Take a deep breathe and don't fear, there are certain aspects of last season reappearing. The 60s and 70s are still swinging through with flares, shift dresses and midi skirts all apparent trends for next season. My favourite trend from last season, the peter pan collar, is still going to be around.

When it comes to hair and make up for AW11, less is certainly more. This season is all about natural beauty, little make up and floaty, wavey hair.

I'm very excited for when next season hits the shops in fully-fledged form, my bank balance, however, certainly isn't.
