Versace eats her words as she collaborates with H&M

"I am thrilled to be collaborating with H&M and to have the opportunity of reaching its wide audience. "The collection will be quintessential Versace, perfect for H&M and Versace fans everywhere." said Donatella Versace this morning, even though she claimed in 2008 a diffusion line wasn't the Versace way.

Collaborations have been in fashion for a while now with Lavin for H&M, Valentino for GAP, Stella McCartney for GAP Kids and Christopher Kane for Topshop being some of the most recent. All of these lines are always a great success and tend to sell out within minutes. I think it is something a designer should be proud to do as labels are not within everybody's reach and collaborations such as these offer their outstanding clothing to everyone.

With 20 pieces for men and 40 for women, the collection is set to be released on November 17. For now there is only a sneak peak of the collection to come!

Never say never: H&M have announced that it will be launching a collection with Versace, despite its creative director Donatella Versace (second from left) saying she would never design a diffusion line
