The McQueens Of The Ball

This year's Met Ball was held to announce the opening of Savage Beauty, the Metropolitan Museum's retrospective dedicated to the work and life of Lee Alexander McQueen. The lavish ball was fitting to celebrate one of the world's most genius designers. McQueen was born and bred in London and was educated at Central St. Martins, UAL. The fashion world was devasted in February last year when McQueen took his own life, after the sad loss of his mother. His designs were beautiful works of art and they were iconic to say the least. Sarah Burton, who is now head designer at Alexander McQueen, was guest of honour at the decadent event.

Whilst some stayed true to McQueen's memory and wore past collection gowns, many sadly did not. In my opinion those who were not wearing McQueen were completely unrespectful. I have tralled through many photos to find the most exquisite McQueens of the ball.
