Are you another one of those women who buy a dress for an event, wear it once and hang in back in the wardrobe? It gathers dust and a year later you remember about that expensive dress you bought but you feel you can no longer wear it because it is out of fashion? Girl Meets Dress is about to become your new best friend.
Girl Meets Dress was set up by former stylist and PR Anna Bance in 2008 and has been bringing red carpet dresses to every girl next door since. Designers range from this years BFC/Vogue Fashion Fund Award winner Christopher Kane to Philip Lim, to Alexander McQueen.
The newest change to the site is the introduction of a monthly membership costing £39, with a minimum three month policy. The beauty of the membership is that you can hire any dress, no matter how much it would cost non members to hire it. So you could be wearing the £1,495 Christopher Kane dress for a mere £39 instead of the £249 it would usually cost to hire it. There is a £9.95 postal charge but it does cover next day delivery and the returning of the dress. The dress is yours for two nights, or for an extra £10 for seven. If you hire it on a Friday, it doesn't have to be posted back until Monday. You can even have it sent to you beforehand to check it fits!
There are many different dresses available for different occasions; work dos, weddings, black tie events, boozy girl nights. If you happen to get a little too tipsy and spill a drink down the dress or cause any damage, don't worry! There is only a £7 insurance charge.
For shoppers with a disposable attitude like my own, this membership option is a gift sent from heaven. A new, beautiful dress once a month, every month for a mere £48.95. Who ever wants to wear the same dress more than once anyway?
I have trailed through all of the dresses in my excitement and have picked the dresses which offer you the most for your money and are obviously fabulously gorgeous too!
